Pray to be wiser in fighting sin

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.  Proverbs 16:25
Christian counselor Paul Tripp says: “Pray once more that the One who is the definition of what is wise would by grace make you wise, that is, a person who loves God’s wisdom more than you love your own.”
Be wise of the devils scheme
“I have done this so that we may not be taken advantage of by Satan. For we are not ignorant of his schemes.” 2 Corinthians 2:11 (HCSB)
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8 (ESV)
Be wise of a way of escape
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it.”  1 Corinthian 10:13 (HCSB)
Be wise  of your foolish heart
“Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.” James 3:13-16
Hear, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way. Proverbs 23:19
Be wise to value God over everything else
Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
Hear instruction and be wise,and do not neglect it.Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting beside my doors.For whoever finds me finds life
and obtains favor from the Lord, but he who fails to find me injures himself;
all who hate me love death.” Proverbs 8:33-36
